Ikea Man and Friends

I stumbled across this man in ikea. I managed to get these sketches in my notebook. His head was so distinct and structural. Unfortunately I couldn't get more than these. The subsequent drawings were inspired by this man.

It's funny to imagine you whipping out your book and following this guy around Ikea :D Awesome
What I think is especially cool is the use of sketchbook i.e you were fascinated by something you observed, and 'made notes' to understand/learn the guys head which informed later work. All too often I get caught up just trying to make a 'pretty picture' and lose sight of the main purpose of 'studies'. Thanks for putting me straight! ;)

Cool drawings. Ikea is such a great place to sketch, all humanity seems to pass through there.

Frankie: You are too kind
Dan: Thanks man. I'm honored you would want to peruse in the hallowed lunch hour. So how's tricks brother?
Rossi: I couldn't help myself. My boy cringes when I do it. But this guy was so ideal. He was a walking design. I still didn't get the info I wanted. He was lean with broad shoulders and the most angular face.
I know what you mean about 'pretty picture' I too suffer the same. The first two drawings were afflicted with the curse.
Anyway glad you liked them. Congrats again man
Peter: thank you. Attenborough needs to get to the nearest Ikea and document the species. I love your drawings on your blog
Timbetti: Thanks man.I like the head on the inked one. Not sure about the pose or the hand...hmmmm
